Delete your account

You can delete your Black Owned account at any time. It's permanent — deleting your account can't be undone and we can't restore it afterwards.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app (fastest)

Sign in to Black Owned.
Open Settings (from your profile).
In the Account section, choose Delete account.
Confirm twice when prompted. Your account is deleted and you're signed out straight away.

If you have trouble finding it: your profile is the last item in the app's navigation, and Settings sits at the top of the profile screen.

What gets deleted

Your account and the personal information attached to it:

Your profile, photos, bio, and the details you filled in.
Your business listing and business details.
Your Let's Work service profile, job posts, work agreements, and your side of any ratings or reviews.
Your promotion content.
Your messages, connections, and likes.
Your acceptance record and settings.

Deleting your account also ends any active promotion on your business.

What we may keep

Some records outlive the account, because the law or a safety matter requires it:

Records the law requires us to keep, such as tax or billing records for a promotion purchase.
The limited information needed to handle a safety report, a complaint, or a legal claim — and to stop a banned member from re-registering.
Copies still held in encrypted backups, which are purged on our normal cycle.

Option 2 — Ask us by email (if you can't sign in)

Email privacy@blackownedapp.ca with the subject "Delete my account", from the email address on the account if you still have access to it. If you don't, tell us the account email in the message — we may ask a couple of questions to confirm the account is yours before we delete it.

We action verified deletion requests within 30 days, and normally much sooner.

Before you go

If you're being contacted by someone and want it to stop, use Block and Report first — that works immediately, without deleting your account.
If something in the app made you uncomfortable, tell us at privacy@blackownedapp.ca. Reports help us remove bad accounts, and they're separate from deleting your own.
